Terms of service

Last updated 13 May 2026 · Governing law: Switzerland (Geneva)

1. Who we are

AuthorityOn AI is operated by The Content Engine SA, registered in Geneva, Switzerland. References to “we”, “our” and “us” refer to that company; to “the Service”, the AuthorityOn AI software available at authorityon.ai and authority.thecontentengine.com.

2. Acceptance

By creating an account or using the Service you accept these terms in full. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.

If you accept these terms on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation to them.

3. The service

The Service measures how large language models (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, and other major LLMs) respond when asked about your brand, products, leaders and competitors. We provide a weekly dashboard, drift alerts, source attribution, and a prioritised action plan derived from those measurements.

We do not guarantee specific score improvements. Model behaviour is non-deterministic and retrain schedules are outside our control. What we guarantee: real prompts run against real models, a documented methodology, and a recurring action plan.

4. Your account

  • You must provide accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account. Keep your credentials secret; notify us immediately if you suspect a compromise.
  • You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or that pose a security risk.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer the Service or attempt to extract our underlying methodology, prompt set, or model-routing logic
  • Resell the Service or its outputs without an explicit reseller agreement (Scale and Enterprise tiers include reseller rights)
  • Use the Service to monitor or audit brands you do not have a legitimate business interest in
  • Submit prompts intended to extract personally-identifying data about individuals, or to produce defamatory content
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service in ways that affect other customers
  • Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the Service outside the documented API

6. Subscription and billing

  • Plans are billed monthly or annually via Stripe, in EUR. Prices are listed at /pricing and are exclusive of VAT.
  • Annual prepay saves approximately 17% over monthly. The Starter tier is €49/mo (entry); Growth €249/mo; Scale €399/mo; Agency custom.
  • No free tier and no free trial. Cancellation is the risk-reversal mechanism, not a trial.
  • You can cancel a monthly subscription at any time through the Stripe customer portal. Access continues until the end of the current billing period. We do not refund partial periods.
  • Annual subscriptions are non-refundable; you can cancel renewal up to the renewal date.
  • We may change prices with 30 days' notice for existing subscribers. Existing subscribers keep their current price until the next renewal.
  • Failed payment: we will retry for 14 days, then suspend the account until billing is corrected. Data is preserved for an additional 30 days before deletion.

7. Data ownership

Your data is yours. The entities you configure, the prompts you submit, and the reports we generate for you belong to you. You can export everything as JSON or CSV from your account at any time.

We may use aggregated, anonymised usage data (e.g. “the median scan has 192 prompts”) to improve the Service and to publish methodology research. We will never identify your brand in such data without your explicit written consent.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its source code, methodology documentation, UI design and brand assets, is owned by The Content Engine SA. You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service while your subscription is active.

Reports, exports and dashboards generated for you contain a mix of: (a) your data, which is yours; (b) our methodology, scoring and UI, which is ours. You may share generated reports internally and with your own clients. You may not republish methodology documentation, scoring formulas, or prompt-set design.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is”. We make no representations or warranties about:

  • Whether your AI scores will improve, by how much, or over what timeframe
  • Whether the LLMs we query will continue to be available, or that their responses will be consistent over time
  • Whether any specific recommendation we generate is appropriate for your business, we offer recommendations, not legal, financial or compliance advice
  • The completeness or accuracy of model responses (LLMs hallucinate; we flag what we can but cannot guarantee error-free reports)

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Swiss law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the total fees you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including lost revenue, lost data, or reputational harm.

These limits do not apply to liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be excluded under Swiss law.

11. Indemnity

You will indemnify us against claims arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the Service, or your infringement of third-party rights through your use of the Service.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Swiss law. Disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of Geneva, Switzerland, subject to your consumer rights under the law of your country of residence where those rights cannot be excluded.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced 30 days in advance by email to account-holders and posted to this page. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
